Bio DonigaDoniga Markegard
Director, Founder, Mentor
Doniga Markegard is co-founder and director of Peninsula Permaculture.  Doniga’s home is on a cattle ranch in San Gregorio, where she and her family raise organic, grass-fed cattle and lamb for the community.  She also owns and operates a permaculture design business, Designs by Doniga.

Doniga has a BA in Sustainable Community Development from Prescott College, Arizona.  Doniga is currently pursuing her certificate and license in Landscape Architecture at University of California Berkeley Extension and a MS in Eco Social Regeneration from Gaia University. 


bio susanoSusan Osofsky
Writer, Mentor, Technical Specialist

Susan is a suburban permaculturalist who
enjoys cultivating her own backyard mini-farm.  She is also andavid compost tea brewer whose passion is creating biologically active soil.  Susan is the Co-Director Green Fork, a project of Conexions where she inspires and educates the community to grow, buy, cook, and eat seasonal, local, organic food. She is also a staff member of Peninsula Permaculture.

Susan has a B.S. and M.S. in Computer Science, is a Certified PUSH muscle therapist, and continues her education in agriculture, soil biology, and Spanish.



Bio EthanEthan Roland
Mentor, Content Contributor

Ethan
Roland (AppleSeed Permaculture) is a designer, entrepreneur, and investor working from the Hudson River Valley to Azerbaijan and beyond. He organizes the Carbon Farming Course in Tennessee, grows 47 species of edible plants, and is opening a Gaia University Regional Center offering accredited degrees in Integrative Eco-Social Agriculture. Ethan holds an M.S. in Collaborative Design and is training to become a registered financial advisor with a focus on ecosystem investing and local economic resilience.





Bio LydiaLydia Puhak

Lydia Puhak is a farm hobbyist and permaculture practioner with special interests in perennial polycrops and holistic goat-keeping. She co-produces the Permaculture Design Course offered by Peninsula Permaculture and provides wordsmithing services to EarthActionMentor and EarthActionTraining. Lydia is a lifelong student with a BA in Biology and continuing studies in French, Math, Economics and Copyediting.






Bio AaronAaron Rourke
Permaculture Intern, Technical Assistant
Aaron is an aspiring Permaculture Designer and eager student of Landscape Architecture. After much travel he resides in Half Moon Bay and is exploring the opportunities and learning resources within his home of Northern California. When he is not reading books on permaculture you can find him admiring the ecology of California from the heights in his rock climbing shoes.

He has studied Forestry Science in New Zealand at the University of Canterbury, has taught English at a grass roots school in Cambodia, studied Burmese Language in Thailand and aided Burmese refugee camps on the Thai/Burma border. He is currently studying towards his BA in Environmental Design.
