Biting into a ripe strawberry is like eating candy. Why stop at one when you can have a whole flat or more!
One of the farmers from our CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) grows organic strawberries, so every week we receive a generous pint of strawberries.

I am going to relate a milk cow with one of the 12 principles David Holmgren defines: Catch and store energy. By developing systems that collect resources when they are abundant, we can use them in times of need. A milk cow is a great example of storing sunlight, transferred through the grass she consumes then to the milk we drink. By having a milk cow allowed to forage on grasslands, we are drinking a little sunshine in every glass.

Chicks Out to Pasture

When the chicks were 3 weeks old, we moved them out to a portable pasture pen. We would have moved them out a little earlier, but the weather was cold and wet and we were waiting for a stretch of warm weather for their first days out. They were ready to get out of the brooder.
